Meet Our Staff

Melissa Conrad

President and Co-Owner

Melissa and her husband Jay Conrad with their fur babies Breah and Bexlee are lifelong residents of Midland. Melissa has been President and Co-Owner of Bay Group Ventures, Inc. since February (1) 2020. She has prospered through the adversity of the 2020 pandemic of COVID-19.

Prior to purchase, Melissa started her journey with Bay Group Ventures July 14, 2014 as a recruiter and quickly moved up through the ranks. She moved from recruiter to drug testing technician, to office manager, and finally to Owner. Owning Bay Group Ventures has been a challenge that she has met and exceeded. Melissa took over Bay Group Ventures with the aspiration to grow the business in to more than just a staffing and drug test company. She was not sure exactly what she wanted to grow into, but was determined to make this company prosper and grow into something amazing. However, Bay Group Ventures took on a life of its own and has evolved into more of its own volition with Melissa leading the way. We now offer multiple services that being a staffing and drug test facility have given us expertise and knowledge to perform. It will be an adventure to see where she takes Bay Group Ventures next!

Jay Conrad

Co- Owner and Accounts Payable

Along with his wife, Melissa and 2 fur babies Breah & Bexlee, Jay is a lifelong resident of Midland. Bay Group Ventures is not the first business that Jay has had a hand in building. Alongside of his parents, Jay was employed at his family’s restaurant in Midland called Forja’s from 1984 until 2009. His parents’ health started going downhill. Losing his mother and the heart of Forja’s in 2008. The Conrad’s then moved on from the restaurant industry. Jay also owns a prosperous small engine repair shop in Midland called JSC Jay’s Service & Contracting. Jay has owned this business for 15 years, and is still going strong today. Jay started working on small engine power sports as a youngin and as a hobby. At the closing of the family restaurant Jay took to doing this on a full time basis and has built a huge clientele. We are proud to have Jay as a part of Bay Group Ventures family. His sense of humor brings many laughs to the office.

Nicole Kehoe

Accounting Supervisor

Nicole is married to her husband and they have two sons, both in college. She has 3 Bernese Mountain dogs, Rocky, Sam, Lucky and a Golden Retriever Happy. A resident of the Grand Rapids area, Nicole has been with Bay Group Ventures as the Accounting Supervisor since 2010. Nicole makes sure we all get paid AND on time. Nicole has extensive knowledge of QuickBooks and also completely handles all Accounts Receivable for Bay Group Ventures. Nicole is a very valuable part of Bay Group Ventures and we are lucky to have her!

Mindy Mendyka

Business Development Manager

Mindy joined Bay Group Ventures, INC. in September of 2024 as our Business Development Manager. This year, Mindy and her boyfriend, Jake relocated to Midland from the Upper Peninsula to be closer to family.

Mindy received her Bachelor’s Degree in Cannabis Chemistry as well as two Associate Degrees; Cannabis Studies and Liberal Arts from Lake Superior State University. Throughout Mindy’s college adventure, she has obtained a variety of transferrable skills that have made her a great asset to Bay Group Ventures.

In her spare time, Mindy loves spending time indoors with her fur babies, Tucker and Gemma, or outside in a hammock. We enjoy having her and her wild sense of humor in our office. We can’t wait to see where Mindy and her idea’s will lead us.
